The final UEFA rankings of 2025 are here.
Real Madrid just took their throne back. After watching Manchester City sit atop the men’s club coefficient rankings for three straight years, Los Blancos climbed over Pep Guardiola’s squad to reclaim the crown. And honestly? With back-to-back Champions League trophies in 2022 and 2024, it was only a matter of time before the Spanish giants reasserted themselves as European royalty.
Bayern München slots in at second with 124.250 points, while Inter Milan rounds out the podium at third. City dropped to fourth despite all their Premier League dominance, and Liverpool sits fifth. The top ten reads like a who’s-who of European football—PSG at sixth, Borussia Dortmund seventh, and Bayer Leverkusen eighth after their incredible domestic run.
England Still Runs Europe’s Association Rankings
While Real Madrid owns the club scene, England continues to dominate as a footballing nation. The Three Lions’ country held onto the top association ranking for a second consecutive year, racking up 103.658 points. Italy trails at second, Spain third, and Germany fourth. Three English clubs crack the top ten individually, though Chelsea and Tottenham—Europa League and Conference League holders respectively—didn’t make that elite list.
France rounds out the top five associations, while the Netherlands, Portugal, and Belgium all sit comfortably in the top eight. Türkiye made a nice jump past Czechia to crack the top ten, signaling the growing strength of the Turkish league.
Barcelona’s Women Keep Making History
On the women’s side, Barcelona absolutely refuses to let anyone else wear the crown. For the third year running, the Catalan club finished number one in the women’s club rankings with 124.000 points. They’ve reached five straight Women’s Champions League finals and won three titles, including back-to-back trophies in 2023 and 2024.
Lyon sits second at 110.750, still a force but clearly chasing Barça’s shadow. Chelsea claims third, while Bayern München and Arsenal round out the top five. Arsenal actually jumped two spots after their run to the 2025 final, where they stunned Barcelona in Lisbon to lift the trophy.
England also leads the women’s association rankings heading into 2026, narrowly edging Spain and France. It’s a statement about the depth and investment pouring into the English women’s game right now.
Portugal Owns Futsal
In futsal, Portugal continues their absolute stranglehold on the rankings. The Seleção das Quinas finished first for a fourth straight year, putting significant distance between themselves and second-place Spain. They’ll compete in Group D at UEFA Futsal EURO 2026, which kicks off January 21 across Latvia, Lithuania, and Slovenia.
These rankings determine everything—seeding for draws, qualification spots, and ultimately who controls the narrative of European football. Right now, that story belongs to Madrid, England, and Barcelona.
