Washington’s defense turned in a suffocating performance, forcing five turnovers in a commanding 38-10 victory over Boise State in the LA Bowl.
The Huskies’ secondary feasted on Boise State’s struggling quarterbacks, intercepting five passes in a defensive masterclass. Leroy Bryant led the takeaway parade with two picks, while Xe’ree Alexander, Deshawn Lynch, and Rahshawn Clark each added one. Lynch’s interception netted 57 yards, contributing to Washington’s 90 total interception return yards.
Quarterback Demond Williams Jr. orchestrated the offensive assault, completing 15-of-24 passes for 215 yards and four touchdowns without an interception. His 84.9 QBR reflected his efficient control of the game. Williams connected with Denzel Boston for a spectacular 78-yard touchdown strike in the second quarter that gave Washington the lead for good. Boston finished with six catches for 126 yards and a score.
Williams distributed the wealth, finding four different receivers for touchdowns. Dezmen Roebuck, Raiden Vines-Bright, and Quentin Moore each hauled in touchdown passes, with Moore’s 32-yarder coming on the opening drive of the third quarter. Jonah Coleman added a 6-yard rushing touchdown in the fourth quarter while leading the ground game with 85 yards on 12 carries.
Boise State’s offense never found rhythm, with quarterbacks Max Cutforth and Maddux Madsen combining for just 253 passing yards while throwing five interceptions. The Broncos managed only 58 rushing yards on 28 attempts and converted just 5-of-16 third downs. Their lone touchdown came late in the fourth quarter on Matt Lauter’s 8-yard reception from Cutforth.
Washington’s defensive front contributed three sacks, with the Huskies holding Boise State to 311 total yards and forcing the Broncos into five turnovers that proved insurmountable.
