Seattle Sounders FC and Providence announced on January 29, 2026, that their jersey-front sponsorship will conclude following the 2027 MLS season, though the organizations will maintain their player care and community partnerships in Renton.
The decision to end the primary sponsorship stems from an option included in the original agreement signed in 2023. Seattle Sounders FC will now begin exploring future partnership opportunities as the club prepares for the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
Despite the conclusion of the jersey sponsorship, Providence Swedish will continue its player care services and joint community initiatives with the club, particularly in the Renton area. The partnership has made significant impact since its inception, providing mental health support to over 15,000 Renton High School students and constructing five soccer mini-pitches in the community.
\”This transition allows both organizations to remain focused on their core priorities while honoring the strength of what we’ve built,\” said Hugh Weber, President of Business Operations for Seattle Sounders FC.
The healthcare provider emphasized its continued support for the club even after the sponsorship ends. \”As we focus our resources on the changing healthcare needs of the community, we remain proud of everything we’ve achieved with the Sounders – and we’ll be cheering for them on and off the field for years to come,\” said Dr. Darryl Elmouchi, Providence Chief Operating Officer.
The Sounders will wear Providence branding on their jerseys through the remainder of the 2026 season and the entirety of the 2027 campaign before transitioning to a new front-of-shirt partner.
