Austin FC has transferred winger Osman Bukari to Polish club Widzew Łódź, the team announced Monday, ending the Ghanaian international’s brief tenure in Major League Soccer after less than a year with the club.
Bukari joined Austin FC in May 2024 but struggled to make a significant impact in the Verde and Black. The 25-year-old recorded one goal and three assists across 20 appearances during his time in Texas, failing to secure a consistent starting role in the attacking third.
\”Austin FC wants to thank Osman for his time at the Club,\” the organization said in a statement announcing the move. The club indicated the transfer provides additional flexibility as they prepare for the upcoming campaign, noting that \”this move opens up roster flexibility for our 2026 campaign.\”
The transfer to Widzew Łódź marks a return to European competition for Bukari, who previously played in France and Switzerland before his MLS stint. The Polish club currently competes in the Ekstraklasa, Poland’s top-flight division.
Austin FC will look to reinvest the freed roster spot and potential allocation money as they continue preparations for the 2026 MLS season.
